In memory of Andrew

Co-founder, colleague, and friend.

Yellow Bolts takes its name from two simple things. Yellow was Andrew’s favourite colour. Bolts, well… the rest followed naturally.

Andrew co-founded this business after we met at a government roundtable on insurance and the sharing economy. He brought deep insurance expertise. We brought experience from across insurance and short-term rentals. We saw the same gap, shook hands on an idea, and built something together.

Our Managing Director, Chloe, worked closely with Andrew for many years prior. She saw first-hand the way he approached his work: with precision, care, and an unwavering focus on doing right by clients. That same attention to detail and commitment to supporting clients continues to shape how we operate today.

What we remember most about Andrew wasn’t just his knowledge, though that was considerable. It was his generosity. With his time, his thinking, his encouragement. He was extraordinarily kind hearted — the sort of person who made everyone feel their problems were worth solving. He believed that a good business earns trust by genuinely deserving it, and he lived that every day.

He passed away in early 2025. But his influence didn’t. Every decision we make about how to treat a client, how to handle a claim, how to show up when something goes wrong, we make it with his standard in mind. Not as a tribute, but as a way of working.

Yellow was his colour. The business behind it is being built, each and every day, in his memory.
